The Payer Marketing Manager is responsible for developing an understanding of key managed care customer segments to create innovative and effective solutions for the abaloparatide franchise, as well as effectively assimilate and communicate actionable insights to inform brand strategy and strategic account management recommendations, both within market access and cross functionally.


  • Collaborate with the Market Access Leadership Team to development, implement, and execute market access marketing initiatives and resources, specifically the brand value proposition, for national payer/PBM account, health systems account, and specialty pharmacy teams
  • Assist with the development of short- and long-term market access strategies and support planning for all future indications and iterations of inline brands, including for the development of pipeline assets
  • Serve as cross-functional communication lead for brand planning, the development and evolution of the brand value story, and identifying opportunities for account specific pull through
  • Assist with the development, support, and execution of field sales training, including at regional and national sales meetings
  • Establish strong relationships with external agency partners/vendors and manage brand strategy, tactic development, budgeting, forecasting, and timeline adherence
  • Ensure specific access insights and perspectives are shared cross-functionally (as needed) and integrated/activated across the franchise life cycle
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and Radius’ promotional review committee (PRC) to gain approval of market access resources and trainings
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of managed market segment/channel dynamics, including payer, PBM, and pharmacy relationships
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the impact policy and legislative changes have on the pharmaceutical and health insurance industries, specifically related to CMS, HHS, and FDA

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


  • A four-year college degree or business experience equivalent is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in/with the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, including a minimum of 1 year working in a market access role
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate information in a complex environment and prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Basic understanding of organized customers including payers and PBMs (public and private), drug distribution network, healthcare reimbursement models, health systems, and/or hospitals
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical utilization data, formulary coverage, and an ability to analyze trends
  • Analytical skills including experience in data mining, modeling, and contract analysis a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sales experience with healthcare providers and/or formulary decision makers
  • Experience working in the disease states of osteoporosis and oncology, and/or specialty drugs
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Pharm D)
